Help: Volunteer

Looking to get involved in the Nation's Horse Capitol? Why not start with volunteering? The TRF-Maker's Mark Secretariat Center is looking for volunteers-horsey or not, local or out of state.l. From the barn to the office, we have a worthy task for you! Please fill out our volunteer form to get started- it can be faxed (859-246-3082), emailed (mdecarlo@thoroughbredadoption.com) or mailed to us.

As a 501-C3, volunteers are how we survive. We ask that you attend first an orientation meeting so you can get to know us, our horses and how we do things. Then we ask that you record on our volunteer calendar the dates and times you plan on being with us so we know when to expect you and how to use the gift of your time wisely.  Please come help us with:

- Mowing/Weed-eating

- Gardening

- Answering the phone

- Daily brushing and cleaning horses

- Barn Chores (ie: mucking stalls, feeding, sweeping, etc.)

- Painting  abd repairing fences

- Cleaning tack

- Cleaning our office

- Helping with mailings

And much, MUCH more!   We can use you! Even if you can only give an hour of your time, we would love to have you join our MMSC family.

Upcoming Events that we will need volunteers for:

Paddlestone Equestrian Center and TRF-MMSC Horse Show- June 19 (set up on June 18)

Secretiques- July 25 (set up July 24)

Painting & Repairing Fences- all the time!

Building a Hitchcock Pen- all the time!

** Please note that being a MMSC volunteer does not mean you will get to ride. Our horses are on a very strict training protocol. Those volunteers who prove themselves to be trustworthy, hardworking  and  who are experienced equestrians can earn the privilege of riding. Our staff and training interns get priority, however.
