Spartans Invade MMSC

The Maker's Mark Secretariat Center reccently hosted two very special guests: Kandio Voutsinou and Elias Saitounis flew 20 hours from their home Sparta, Greece to Lexington, Kentucky to learn about the American racing industry and included the Center in their trip. Voutsinou runs a small Thoroughbred rescue called Indiana Spirit Farm in Sparta for horses off Markopoula Mesogeas, the local racetrack. Saitounis has 23 horses in training at Makopoula Mesogaes in Athens, and currently has one of them (a gelding called Grymaios) up for adoption. She hopes to open the first re-training and adoption center in Greece, patterned after the Secretariat Center.
