"Chief" is a fabulously compact young gelding who, despite being only 3, is already very muscular and impressively filled out!
Bred by a local racing farm (but never raced or put into racing training), he was at risk of going to auction when his owner needed to quickly cut down on his number of horses. Thankfully, his owner decided instead to donate Chief to CANTER.
"Chief" has been so dubbed by his foster home because of his thick, wavy forelock - he looks like a windswept Native American pony! This good-natured youngster has been halter-trained and started with the basics under saddle, but is still very green and will need to be brought along slowly and adeptly by an OTTB-knowledgeable trainer. He is a solid mover, very social both with people and other horses, and has all the traits of a really great sporthorse-to-be!
Chief's adoption fee is $900. Approved adopters can see him at his foster home in southern New Hampshire.
